Meet Suzy Childress

Dallas designer, Suzy Childress, established Childress Interiors, Inc. in 1982, a full-service interior design firm after graduating from the University of Texas with a degree in interior design. Suzy’s lifelong love of design is evident throughout her work—commercial and residential—and she defines a successful project by how closely her services meet her clients’ goals and lifestyle. Her industry knowledge and sincerity in forming collaborative relationships enable her to produce signature looks. She works closely with architects and builders on the client’s behalf, prioritizing the client’s best interests. Suzy’s belief that “construction management on behalf of my clients is key to every successful project” and ensures an enjoyable process.

“I help clients gain a vision and create a path to their final results. Project management and problem-solving are central focuses” says Suzy, “to create a team approach with the builder, architect, and client. Many times clients may not know what they want, but they do know what they like, and I help them gain this vision- even if it’s nothing more than a fabric or a color that begins the process.” Creating an estimated furnishings budget coupled with design inspirations at the onset of the project are crucial in gaining insight for the client's expectations, and a "no surprises" approach.
